Getting Started with BlackVue: A Simple Guide

BlackVue is a handy tool that helps you manage your dashcam. I've found it pretty straightforward to use, once you get the hang of it. Think of it as your go-to place for checking recordings and tweaking settings.

Connecting to Your BlackVue Device

Connecting can be easy. Usually, it involves using Wi-Fi. If you face problems, here's what I do: first, I make sure my phone is in airplane mode but with Wi-Fi turned on. Then, I try connecting manually. This often solves any connection issues for me.

Finding Your Videos

Finding your downloaded videos on your phone can be tricky sometimes, especially with newer Android versions. I learned that the videos are often stored in the app's internal memory. To get them onto your phone, I go to the Internal Memory tab, find the video I want, and then select "Backup." After that, I choose where I want to save the file on my phone.

Dealing with Connection Problems

Sometimes, I have run into connection problems after updating my phone's software. A common reason is that the Wi-Fi name (SSID) isn't quite right. The app might show one name, but the camera is trying to connect to another (even if it's just a capital letter that's different!). If that's the case, you may need to manually edit a file on the SD card to fix the Wi-Fi name.

Besides using BlackVue on my phone, I also like the PC program. It lets me look at footage in detail, which is helpful when I need a closer look at something.

FAQ About BlackVue

Why can't I connect to my BlackVue camera?

Make sure your Wi-Fi settings are correct and try connecting manually in airplane mode (with Wi-Fi on). Also, check the Wi-Fi name (SSID) to ensure it matches exactly.

Where are my downloaded videos?

Look in the Internal Memory tab within the app. From there, you can back them up to your phone's storage.

What if I have connection problems after a software update?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If that doesn't work, double-check your Wi-Fi settings and the SSID.
